Master of the Plains - Bison

The painting entitled “Master of the Plains – Bison” was commissioned by the Badlands National History Association.  It depicts buffalo on the range with the majestic Badlands in the background.  In the old days, bison roamed the range freely in great numbers.  The sheer size and strength of a mature bull is depicted in this painting and symbolizes the energy and  power of this native North American animal.  These beautiful animals are now found in small numbers within Refuges or National Parks within the U.S.

This painting in on permanent display in the lobby of the Visitor Center at the Badlands National Park in Interior, South Dakota.  This painting is 5 feet long and is quite impressive when you see it at this scale that best represents the magnificence of the bison.

This original painting was done in acrylics on canvas.
